TRAVELLERS have returned to a field next to a leisure centre on Canvey.
Three vehicles were seen arriving on to the field next to Waterside Farm Leisure Centre about 1pm today.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are aware of an unauthorised encampment of three vehicles, are attending the scene and monitoring the situation."
Canvey residents looked on as multiple travellers with caravans moved onto the field next to Waterside Farm Leisure Centre on Somnes Avenue at around 7.30pm on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, traffic was held up as 16 caravans and 14 vehicles crossed onto the same field directly from the road.
A spokesman for Castle Point Council, said: "Travellers have move onto council land - the council is working with Police and the Essex County Council Traveller Unit to arrange for the removal of the travellers."
