AN ALL weather summer celebration defied heavy rains to support a raft of musicians lending their talents to lifesavers.

Despite poor weather, a host of musical acts help keep spirits up at this year's 53 Degrees North Music Festival at Rhyl Lifeboat Station on Saturday, July 27.

The free event, now in its second year, raises funds for the RNLI charity.

Martin Jones, Rhyl Lifeboat coxswain, said: "I think people who came down and braved the weather really enjoyed themselves at this years event.

Starting proceedings as the event meant to go on, the day was kicked off by the high energy, long time supporters of Rhyl RNLI MavMac, who performed their set in RNLI crew gear.

The duo were followed by indie rock four-piece Chasing Shadows and Roisin Gordon, who stepped in at the last minute as well as Rhyl Lifeboat crew member Colin T Jones, Caz McElroy, the Ruby Blues Band and the Old Scrotes.

Brining the event to a close was the event off in the evening Kyle Parry, while he event was hosted by DJ's Mike Lewis and Craig K from Sound Radio Wales.

Mr Jones added: "We would like to thank all those who helped out during the day.

"A special thanks goes to all the acts and DJ's who gave their time to help us, also we would like to thank Noel Clements from the Cob & Pen who played a major role in organising the day."
