ONE lane has been shut by police on the A127 after a crash at the Kent Elms junction this morning.
The car was spotted hitting the railings at the junction, travelling towards Southend.
It is currently unknown if anyone has been injured.
Mr Daniel Cowan, councillor for St Lawrence Ward at Southend council, posted on social media: "The Southend bound A127 is currently down to one lane immediately after the Kent Elms junction due to an accident that has seen a car go into the railings.
"Emergency services have attended and some remain on site.
"Please avoid the area if you can."
Essex Police were contacted for a comment.
