THE most powerful pair of bands of the North Wales hardcore scene will meet a delegation from across the border this month.

The devoted fanbase of Colwyn Bay's Habits and beloved Conwy noise rocker four piece Maines will welcome English and Gets Worse, Monolithian and Benefit State to the Marine Hotel in Old Colwyn for a stellar session to raise funds for Tudno FM.

Heading up the pack, Gets Worse are a four piece from Leeds who are going to be a short sharp shock of a perfomance. Purveyors of 'powerviolence', a style of hardcore punk that is technical and rapidly changing, also features great shared vocals. They have toured the USA and Europe but are now enjoying their summer visiting UK seaside destinations, including sunny Colwyn bay

Monolithian are also seasiders but all the way from Falmouth in Cornwall. A two piece of bass and drums featuring Simon from Rash Decision who played North Wales earlier in the year, they contort a huge distorted yet melodic groove with occasional faster outbursts.

Also making the trip across the border is the old-school punk rockers Benefit State from Stockport ,who will add a punchy blast of political agitation to the beautiful discord and get the night fired up the right ways.

Add into that the intense melodies of local heroes Habits and the incredible shoegaze inflected soundscapes of Maines, and this is one unmissable line-up.

The Tudno FM Benefit takes place on Saturday, August 17 from 7pm.

Tickets are £5 on the door, with all proceeds going towards the Tudno FM community radio station.
