POLICE are probing an incident in which two men reportedly tried to force a woman into a car in Rochford.

The incident happened in North Street on Monday 8 July at around 1.30am.

Details have only just been released.

Police say a woman in her 50s was approached by a dark coloured Mercedes, two men got out and told her to get into the car.

One of the men then attempted to force her inside the vehicle, she fought back and managed to get away.

One man has been described as in his early 30s, 5ft 9ins, white, of stocky build with a scar under his right eye, dark curly hair that was slicked back. He was smartly dressed in a white T-shirt with a long collar, a black jacket, dark trousers and pointy shoes, wearing a gold chain with a cross on.

The second man has been described as white, in his late 30s, 5ft 9ins, of stocky build, dark hair shaven on the sides and long on top. He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie with three lines down the side, and tracksuit bottoms.
