Police have issued some advice ahead of a memorial ride out for Cian Daly this afternoon.
Cian Daly, 20, of Leigh, has been named as one of six people who have lost their lives in south Essex in a tragic spate of drug-related deaths.
This afternoon, family and friends have organised a memorial ride out for Cian - a motor fanatic - beginning in Southend.
In light of the event, police are asking people in the south of the county to be aware of potential disruption to the road networks and are advising participants to drive safely.
Temporary Det Ch Supt Stuart Hooper said: “Our officers will be monitoring the progress of the bikes and cars planning to attend and we urge all participants to drive with consideration of other road users.
“Dangerous driving and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and we will take action when we see any crimes being committed.
“Anyone wishing to report a crime should call 101 or 999 in an emergency.”
The ride will start at Southend sea front at 4pm and may disrupt traffic through Rochford, Rayleigh, Thundersley, Hadleigh, and Leigh over the course of the late afternoon and early evening.
