SO, Lakeside is to be expanded again and of course the council say we the public must have our say, but will anybody listen?

Why should this time be any different to all the other times we, the locals, have complained about the lack of infrastructure improvements in the area?

As soon as the schools go back after their summer break the whole of Lakeside is a no go area for me until late January, too many times I have sat in nose to tail traffic with a round trip to B&Q taking over an hour for a six mile journey.

Can I ask a simple question? why is the road from the Treacle mine to Sainsbury’s only one lane in each direction? There is plenty of room to make it a dual carriageway, surely this would improve traffic flow. This is only one remedy. What about the road from Lakeside karting to Sainsbury’s, the same dualling could be carried out there.

You cannot tell me that our caring council have not thought of these enhancements but they don’t want to spend the money on this as it’s better spent changing Grays one way/two way system again for no apparent reason.

Come on Thurrock Council, please listen to us this time and not just pay lip service to our needs.

JOHN COURT Elmway, Grays
