SHOPPERS and families took a trip back in time with a history themed event.

The Royals Shopping Centre in Southend transported visitors back to the Victorian times for the day.

Members of the centre’s Little Royalty kids club enjoyed a splendid day.

There was plenty of activities and entertainment, including classic Punch and Judy puppet shows, pavement painting, Victorian style school lessons, traditional games and high tea.

The popular seaside shopping centre, was transformed into a world of the Victorian era for the special school holidays event with plenty of fun and activities.

The event also gave the children a chance to enjoy some fun and messy crafts.

And organisers were pleased saying it was very well-attended.

The shopping centre has been hosting a number of exciting history-themed events during the school holidays.

The centre said its children’s club, is now in its fifth year and is going from strength to strength.

The visitors were also joined at the event by the centre’s popular mascots Rosie and Rylan The Lions.

Centre manager Dawn Jeakings said: “We are thrilled with the success of this season’s summer fun days - we hope everyone who enjoyed our free events have made memories that they will treasure.”
