A brand new play area has been unveiled after an investment of £152,000 by the council.
The newly refurbished play equipment has been unveiled at Markhams Chase after Basildon Council invested the cash.
The improvements included new play equipment, refurbishment of existing equipment and replacement of safety surfacing and new benches and bins.
The council also replaced the old skate park with a new concrete skate park.
Chairman of the Neighbourhoods and Public Spaces Committee David Harrison said: “Basildon Council is committed to making the borough a place where people want to live. Having well maintained parks and open spaces is key to this.
“Markhams Chase was in need of some attention and this investment has made it an environment where children can play safely while having fun and challenging themselves.”
