HARWICH AND PARKESTON 5
CORNARD UNITED 1
First Division Knockout Cup
HARWICH were in good form to win this south v north division cup clash.
The Shrimpers took the lead within the first five minutes, after a well-constructed move.
Adie Cant sent Kevin Coyle away down the left and he crossed for Jordan Heath to slot the ball into the net.
Cornard equalised in the 25th minute but, a minute later, Coyle was on target to restore the Shrimpers' lead.
The goal rush continued four minutes later with another excellent Harwich move, ending with a cracking shot from Charlie Cook giving the Shrimpers' a 4-1 lead which they held at half-time.
The game evened out in the second period but Harwich were never in danger of losing their decisive advantage and netted their fifth when substitute Ross Purll cleverly slipped the ball through for skipper Heath to finish well.
Harwich have no game tomorrow.
Their reserves lost 4-3 at Great Clacton on Saturday, where the scorers were Rob Good, Jay Eggerichs and Ronnie Heather.
On Friday they play Harwich Rangers in the League Cup at the R Gwinnell & Sons Royal Oak (kick-off 7pm).
