HARWICH Boxing Club's Kilian Hardy continued his National Development Class B Championship adventure at Swindon's Oasis Leisure Centre.

He was up against Fishergate ABC’s Harley Colwell-Levene.

In this fiercely-contested welterweight national semi-final, Colwell-Levene was first out of the blocks and applied instant pressure in the opening minute.

However, Hardy quickly regrouped and settled into his rhythm, as he began to pick his shots well to edge the last two minutes of the opening session.

The second round saw the 19-year-old deliver arguably the best round of his championship assault so far, with his accurate and hard shots forcing two standing eight counts on his floundering opponent from Sussex.

To his credit, Colwell-Levene had no choice but to force the pace in the last round, in what proved a tough one for both boxers.

However, Hardy prevailed to go onto take a unanimous 5-0 points decision.

He now travels to Banbury this coming weekend to face Leeds-based foe Tarik Zaine, from Tigers Gym ABC, in the national final.
