A MAJOR three car crash left passengers helplessly trapped in their cars.
Firefighters rushed to the scene yesterday evening after it was reported that three vehicles had collided on Poynters Lane, Southend, leaving two people trapped inside.
Firefighters managed to free the casualties, who were then left in medical care.
A spokesperson from the Essex County Fire and Rescue Services, said: "Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision in Southend.
"Firefighters worked hard to release both casualties by 7:22pm and they were left in the care of the ambulance service."
The ambulance service have been contacted for comment.
