A DRUGGED-up thug bit a mum’s nose after storming into her house as her children slept.

Kevin Perrin had gone to his ex-partner’s home in Basildon at 7.45am in the morning on September 21 this year.

Perrin was told by his partner at the door that it was too early for him to be there as the children were sleeping.

He was repeatedly told at he would not be let in and that she “did not want anything to do with him”.

This angered the 29-year-old and he shoved his way in through the door.

He grabbed the victim around the throat with both hands and held her against the wall.

He then lunged forward and bit her face, with his teeth clasping on her nose and upper lip, breaking the skin and causing her severe pain.

The woman then screamed as her young son walked in on the incident.

Perrin left the house shouting: “Don’t call the police”, but his victim ignored his plea and police were called, with him being arrested on the same day.

Perrin appeared at Basildon Crown Court yesterday to be sentenced for causing actual bodily harm and for possessing cannabis.

Giving a victim impact statement at court, Perrin’s victim said she was willing to help him rehabilitate for the sake of their children, and that the incident was caused by him being under the influence of drugs at the time.

She said: “This incident has not affected my work or my relationships with family, if anything, it has made me work even harder.

“ I feel Kevin needs help with his addiction, I just want my kids to have a good dad.

“I am willing to help him and support him.

“He has never been away from his children for this long before.”

Recorder William Clegg QC told Perrin, of Bowers Gifford, that he had committed a “nasty and unpleasant” attack but chose to not send him to jail in light of his partner’s support.

He said: “If there is any repetition of this conduct, a judge would never be so lenient again.

“Sentences for domestic violence can be very long.

“You have been given a chance today, and you are very fortunate to have such support and an opportunity like this.”

Perrin received an 18 month community order and must complete 30 hours of a rehabilitation activity.
