It's still neck and neck at the top of the Tyrrells Premier 15s table with Saracens and Harlequins both unbeaten after seven games.

Quins are currently in front by a solitary bonus point and Sarries head coach Alex Austerberry hopes the signing of Emelie Hellgren from Richmond for the remainder of the campaign is just the boost his side need.

The Swede will be a welcome addition to the side at Allianz Park, with her versatility making her comfortable playing anywhere across the back three.

“Emelie is an exciting addition to our squad and we were delighted to hear she was interested in coming to Saracens,” said Austerberry.

“She’s got international quality and will increase the number of options we have in the back three as we look to continue our good start to the season in both leagues.”

Hellgren is in line to make her debut for Saracens as they host Darlington Mowden Park Sharks on Saturday, in what will be their last match of the year at Allianz Park.

She will be hoping to help her new teammates to maintain an astonishing run at their home ground, which has seen them undefeated in 15 matches.

Harlequins were the last team to taste victory as an away side, with a 32-29 success back in March 2018, and with the Sharks faltering, that run looks set to continue for at least another week.

Table-toppers Quins face a trip to Twyford Avenue to play Wasps Ladies on Saturday, with the hosts looking to bounce back after a 32-21 defeat to Sarries last time out.

As the women’s game returned after a lengthy international break, Quins carried on exactly where they had left off, with a thumping 81-0 defeat of Firwood Waterloo.

The match saw eight different try scorers, which demonstrates the talent coaches Karen Findlay and Gary Street have at their disposal in their squad.

Wasps find themselves in fifth position ahead of the weekend’s meeting, and if they were to manage a win against the table-toppers, they could move as high as third in the rankings.

Finally, Richmond face the long trip to Merseyside this weekend, as they travel to bottom side Firwood Waterloo.

After just one victory all season, Richmond find themselves languishing third from bottom, so a victory against winless Waterloo would be crucial.

Both sides failed to trouble the scoreboard last time out, with Waterloo being on the receiving end of a thumping from Harlequins, while Richmond went down 34-0 to Loughborough Lightning.

With home matches against Wasps and Saracens to come before the winter break, this will be Richmond’s best chance of securing a victory before the year ends.
