Police have closed off a close in North Glasgow after a man was assaulted.
The 35-year-old was found injured at around 5.30 am this morning on Hawthorn Street near to Memel Street in Springburn.
He was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where hospital staff describe his condition as stable.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police called around 5.30 am this morning Monday, December 9 to a report that a 35-year-old man had been found injured in a close in Hawthorn Street, near to Memel Street, Springburn, Glasgow.
"It has now been established that he was assaulted and enquiries are ongoing.
"He was taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Medical staff describe his condition as stable.
"Enquiries are continuing."
