DESCRIPTIONS of two suspects who may be armed and dangerous have been released by police following a shooting in Southend.

Members of the public reported two men had shown them a firearm, which was tucked into the waistband of one of the men, while on Southchurch Road, near gentleman’s club, Entice, around 9pm.

Police believe that this firearm was then used following the altercation involving two men and another male, on York Road, in Southend, around 9.20pm.

A man was shot when the gun was fired outside York Superstore, York Road.

The injured man presented himself at hospital in the early hours of November 27 with a gunshot wound to his arm.

The initial attack took place on November 26 with descriptions of the men, and the first incident, revealed yesterday.

Both men are described as being black and aged in their early to mid-20s.

They fled the scene on foot.

One of the men had a stocky build and wore a dark-coloured coat with dark jogging bottoms.

The second is described as being of slim build and wore a grey hooded jumper and dark-coloured jogging bottoms.

Detectives are calling for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “In the early hours of the following day, Wednesday 27 November, a man in his 20s presented himself at hospital.

“He had a wound to his arm, which we believe was a gunshot wound.

“We are attempting to establish if this is linked to the earlier altercation in York Road, and would urge anyone with information to come forward.

“We appreciate that this is a concerning time for the public.

“Please be assured that our officers are working around the clock to progress this investigation and are carrying out numerous CCTV and forensic enquiries.
