Police are hunting for a man suspected of carrying out burglaries across the south of England and the Midlands, including Essex.

Peter Sonny Martin O'Halloran is believed to have targeted Essex, as well as the Cotswolds, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.

Other areas may have included the West Mercia Police area, Warwickshire, Hampshire and Suffolk.

The 33-year-old is also wanted for recall to prison, after failing to comply with conditions of his previous release from prison.

Det Sgt Dave Doherty, of Gloucestershire Constabulary, is leading the hunt for O'Halloran.

He said: "O'Halloran has evaded us for some time now, and we firmly believe he is very active in targeting residential properties and stealing large values of jewellery amounting to hundreds of thousands of pounds.

"He sometimes goes by the name of Peter Noon, or other aliases, and someone must know where he is.

"We would appeal for anyone with information on his whereabouts to get in touch, but not to try and apprehend him themselves as he is extremely keen to evade arrest."

  • Anyone with information on O'Halloran's whereabouts should call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 0845 090 1234, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
