CAMPAIGNING MP Sir David Amess is pressing ministers over noise pollution and emissions from Southend Airport following complaints from frustrated residents.
Sir David, Tory MP for Southend West, has tabled a series of parliamentary questions quizzing ministers after being contacted by residents.
He has asked Department for Transport ministers what representations they have received on the issue.
In addition, he has asked ministers to step in and assess the adequacy of restrictions on aircraft noise and emissions from the airport.
Finally, he has asked whether a legal agreement called a Section 106 agreement could be amended.
Writing on his Twitter page, Sir David said: "I have been working with residents for a long time regarding Southend Airport.
"Recently, even more people have been contacting me to express their frustration concerning night flights and pollution in particular."
