Commuters are facing delays and cancellations  due to a points failure and a fallen tree.

Greater Anglia services are disrupted this monring after the tree falling near between Sudbury and Marks Tey and a points failure this morning (Wednesday, January 15) at London Liverpool Street.

The points failure means trains are unable to use platforms 11 and 12 at the station, which is having a knock on impact to services causing delays and cancellations.

The train due to run the Sudbury branch today has sustained damage as a result of the tree.

Greater Anglia are currently advising passengers not to travel between Marks Tey and Sudbury until further notice.

Buses have now been sourced by the train company to run this route and will be at Marks Tey from 7.30am.
