DAREDEVIL foodies are being invited to take part in the return of the Colchester Chilli Challenge.
Colchester Market's fourth annual event takes place in the square near River Island, in Lion Walk Shopping Centre, next Saturday January 25.
Up to 12 competitors will have the chance to take on reigning champion Matt Wilson in knock out rounds featuring treats like Trinidadian Moruga Chilli Mash, which measures a whopping 2.2 million on the Scoville scale, and Mex Appeal's super spicy loaded nachos.
This year's How Hot Can You Go competition is also vegan friendly for the first time.
Entrance costs £10 per person, which includes a free and exclusive Colchester Chilli Challenge t-shirt created by Cult Zeroes.
There are also prizes up for grabs for the winner including a celebration chilli hamper.
Registration opens at 10am with the competition kicking off at 11am.
