Southend Airport will soon offer passengers the chance to fly to Norway and experience the land of the Vikings.

The airport is launching the new route with Widerøe, the largest regional airline that operates in the Nordic countries.

The airport will provide a fast and cost-effective route to and from Kristiansand, Norway, with daily flights scheduled.

Flights will take-off just before Easter, from Sunday 29th March, with fares starting from as low as £55 one-way.

The new route will give holidaymakers the chance to visit the largest city on the Southern coast of Norway: a great leisure location, perfect for family fun and nature activities.

Glyn Jones, CEO of Stobart Aviation, said: “We are delighted to welcome Widerøe to London Southend Airport. This partnership is another key milestone for us, as the UK’s fastest-growing airport, and we hope holidaymakers will use this service to enjoy all the treasures that Norway has to offer.

"London Southend Airport is extremely accessible, with fast and hassle-free rail-links into the heart of London. We also have excellent customer service, having consecutively been ranked London’s best airport by consumer group Which? For the past six years.”

Christian Skaug, Commercial Director of Widerøe, said: “With the arrival of spring we are excited to fly our passengers to London’s Best Airport. An airport unknown to the majority of our customers, however we believe they will appreciate the smaller size airport and effectiveness Southend has to offer.”
