A man was to hospital after being stabbed and attacked in a busy high street.

Emergency services rushed to High Street, Hadleigh at around 7pm yesterday.

A man was found suffering stab wounds after being assaulted by two men.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called at 7.13pm with reports of a person with stab wounds in High Street, Hadleigh.

"We sent four ambulances and took one patient to Southend University Hospital for further care."

A spokesman for the force said "We are investigating following an incident in Hadleigh where a man sustained stab wounds to his knee and hand.

"We were called to an address in High Street at around 7.15pm on Wednesday, January 15.

"It was reported the victim was assaulted by two men."

"Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information is being encouraged to call 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/8005/20 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
