From tomatoes and cucumbers to strawberries and leafy greens, organic fruit and veg grown in Cumbria will soon be available in the South Lakes.
Eva’s Organics, based in the north east corner of the county, are launching a new home delivery service that takes in Grasmere, Coniston, Ambleside Windermere and lots of places in between.
Debbie and Mike Simpson started the business over twenty years ago and now deliver to over 200 homes around north Cumbria and the Scottish Borders.
“We always thought we would get to the South Lakes eventually but we didn’t think it would take us twenty years," said Mike.
Eva’s Organics grows over forty varieties of fruit and veg with the aim of harvesting for delivery all year round. However, the rigours of the Cumbrian climate mean that most of their home grown produce is available from late spring to autumn.
