A driver was rushed to hospital after a four-car crash caused travel chaos.
Emergency services rushed to the crash at about 4.30pm last night, after the A127 was blocked Southend-bound near to Daws Heath Road.
It saw standstill traffic across the south of the county.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We responded to reports of a crash involving four cars on the A127, which occurred just before 4.10pm on Wednesday 5 February.
"It occurred just before Daws Heath Road on the southbound carriageway and involved a Mercedes ML 280, a Corsa, a VW Polo and Nissan Qashqai.
"A 26-year-old man from Rochford, the driver of the Qashqai, was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be serious.
"Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to call 101 and quote incident 754 of 5 February."
