A busy town centre road will be closed to allow for gas works.

The road will be closed from February ๐ญ๐ณ ๐๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ป๐๐ถ๐น ๐ฎ1.
Southend Council bosses say the works are essential and drivers who ignore closures can be fined.
The spokesman added: โThe closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst New Gas Connection works take place. Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
โAny vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this TRO may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.โ
