A large ladder on the track between Barking and West Ham is causing major disruption, delays and cancellations across the whole c2c network.

Customers have been advised that stations between Barking and London Fenchurch Street will not be served, with all trains terminating at Barking.

Trains have been cancelled on all routes, including the 7.04am Southend Central to London Fenchurch Street, 7.35am Pitsea to London Fenchurch Street, 7.40am London Fenchurch Street to Grays, 7.44am London Fenchurch Street to Leigh, 8.26am London Fenchurch Street to Grays and 9.17am Grays to London Fenchurch Street.

Disruption is expected to last until 10am today.

Greater Anglia are currently accepting tickets, and London Underground are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for c2c rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.

Ellie Harper, 20, from Stanford-le-Hope, said: "There are so many people on the platform at Stanford it's a joke.

"Everybody is now running late, there has been delays all morning.

"I won't be able to even get to work now, I can't get to a Greater Anglia station and it's too expensive to get a cab there because I work in London."

The cancellations come just a day after the firm apologised for months of delays and problems with ticket machines.

If your journey has been disrupted by more than 15 minutes, you may be entitled to cash compensation. Please visit the c2c website and search Delay Repay for information on how to claim.
