AN ELDERLY man was shoved over and threatened in Shoebury.

Police are appealing for information after man in his 70s was pushed over and threatened after challenging another man in Shoebury.

The victim reported that he was walking in Friars Park close to the footbridge over the fishing pond when he spotted a man cutting branches off a tree with a knife at around 5pm on Friday February 7.

He reported that the man was cutting branches in attempted to block the path.

The victim challenged the man and was pushed to the floor and threatened.

He sustained cuts to the head, arm and shin.

The suspect has been described as being white, of a medium build, aged in his late 20s to early 30s and was wearing jeans and a woolly.

The victim described the suspect has having teeth in a poor condition.
