A CHARITY'S popular Bubble Rush event is to return after a years absence and promises to be bigger and bubblier than ever before.

St Helena Hospice's family friendly 5k fun run takes place on Saturday, May 30, in Castle Park, Colchester.

Participants start the course in a sea of foam and then walk, skip, run or dance their way through four different coloured bubble stations where foam canons create a four foot bubble bath.

Last year the popular event was put on hold due to cost concerns and so the charity could run other fundraising events in other areas.

Lisa Chenery, events fundraiser for St Helena Hospice, said: "We are thrilled to be able to offer Bubble Rush again this year as it has always been so popular in the past and it’s really good fun for the whole family.

"This year we’re asking participants to aim to raise £80 or more in sponsorship.

"The ticket price only covers the cost of putting on a safe event, so we rely on our supporters to raise money so that we can continue to be there for all of the people who need us.

"Your £80 could pay for a bereavement counsellor for two hours to support a person after the death of a loved one.”

The bubble rush is suitable for all ages and abilities and it is pushchair and wheelchair friendly.

All those who take part receive a t-shirt and medal which are included in the ticket price.

Those who sign up before April 5 can secure discount early bird prices of £18 per adult, £9 per child and a family ticket for £50.

Children under three go free of charge.

Anyone who raises £80 in sponsorship will be entered into a prize draw to win four free places at another St Helena Hospice event.
