HADLEIGH Junior School has a suspected case of coronavirus and confirmed the staff member in question is self-isolating.

The individual has been advised that they are a "low risk" suspected case and are awaiting testing.

Glenn Moore, headteacher at the school, sent a letter home to parents, which said: "I can confirm that a member of staff is self-isolating following advice from NHS 111/Public Health England in relation to coronavirus (covid-19).

"The staff member has been advised that they are "low risk" suspected case, but are awaiting testing and I will update you if there is any further information I need to share.

"I have sought advice from the Department of Education Helpline and, in line with Public Health England guidance, they have advised that there is no need fo rush to take any further action at this point.

"We will continue to be vigilant with cleanliness and ensure we are aware of the symptoms and latest expert advice. The latest advice and guidance can be found on the NHS website.

"I appreciate that this news may cause some concern, but rest assured that we will continue to follow advice, keeping you updated accordingly.

"I'm sure you will all join me in wishing the staff member a speedy recovery and negative test result."
