THE Coronavirus outbreak has put paid to plans for a big #RhylSpringClean.

The Rhyl branch of the environmental group Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) had planned to engage to community to hold as many litter-picks and clean-ups in tow as possible as part of their campaign between Friday, March 20 and Sunday, April 19.

Keith Jones, Rhyl town councillor and SAS volunteer, said: "After much deliberation - and with advice from the environmental groups we work with - we have sadly decided that it would be in everyone's best interest to postpone our forthcoming BIG BIG #RhylSpringClean events. This decision, supported by WHO advice, has been a difficult decision for us, but the safety of you, our amazing community of volunteers and those around us has to be the priority."

"Rest assured, our blog page and social media accounts will still be running business-as-usual, in an effort to keep inspiring those around us and to provide an ongoing source of positivity."
