And our very own seafront has become one of the most popular destinations for families and visitors.

For generations we have loved fabulous days out with lots of seafront treats, such as fish and chips.

Our world famous pier, much-loved fun fair and arcade attractions have drawn families and daytrippers for decades.

And who could forget relaxing strolls along the well-known pier after a delicious seafront lunch.

These lovely pictures transport us all back to days when we packed onto the seafront for fun days out and remind us about the great times shared by so many families.
Long sunny days and summer holidays called for hours spent on the packed beaches, with mum and dad resting in stripy deckchairs.

Thrillseekers flocked to enjoy white-knuckle rides to be whirled into adrenaline filled highs.
There was plenty of suncream covering carefree children playing on the sandy beaches in the glorious sunshine.
