A MOTORIST who drove from London to Canvey is counting the cost after his car was seized by police on Covid-19 patrols...because it had no insurance.
Castle Point police stopped the motorist travelling from London to Canvey.

A spokesman said: "We think you will agree that driving from London to Canvey to take exercise is a little extreme and certainly does not comply with current emergency legislation.
"The driver of this vehicle was stopped by one of our officers and it turns out that not only was he out of his house without a reasonable excuse, his vehicle also had no insurance.
"We have now seized this under Section 165 and the driver reported."
