A man has been arrested after two women were stabbed in Basildon.
Officers raced to the scene on Quendon Road at around 8.20pm last night after receiving reports that a man with a knife was heading towards the Fryth.
Teams used a taser to detain a man within eleven minutes of 999 being called, and the road was cordoned off.
Police have confirmed two women, aged in their 50s and 20s had suffered stab wounds whilst inside a property on the road, and that criminal damage had been caused to a number of vehicles nearby.
A 31-year-old man, who was known to both victims, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grevious bodily harm, resisting arrest and criminal damage.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "A man has been arrested after a disturbance in Quendon Road, Basildon.
"Anyone who has information about this incident and has not yet spoken to our officers is asked to call 101 and quote the incident number 1156 of Friday 22 May.
