A WOMAN is due in court today charged with assaulting two officers in Basildon.
Rachel Kerry, 31, of Ghyllgrove Close, Basildon, is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker.
It follows reports that officers were kicked on Monday May 25 after attending a disturbance involving neighbours in Ghyllgrove Close, Basildon.
Superintendent Bonnie Moore, said: “Our officers come to work to serve our communities, not to be assaulted and abused.
"Officer assaults will not be tolerated and will be robustly dealt with by our investigation teams.”
