A DELIGHTED five-year-old received a response from Boris Johnson after writing him a get well soon card when he was struck down with Covid-19.

Francesca Smith made a handmade card for the Prime Minister after hearing the news he had been admitted to hospital with coronavirus on television.

And after recovering and getting back to the heart of Government, Mr Johnson's office took the time to send the Home Farm Primary School pupil a thank you for her well wishes.

Mum Natalie Smith said: "When she heard he was ill in hospital, she asked if she could send him a get well soon card.

"She made it and wrote it all by herself.

"She is only 5-years-old and was so excited to get a response back from him."
