A MAN is fighting for his life after being stabbed in Southend.
Police were called to Victoria Avenue near the Blue Boar pub at 4.10am.
The man in his 20s was found injured near the pub and was taken to hospital with stab wounds, in a life threatening condition.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and our enquiries remain ongoing.
"Part of Victoria Avenue is closed while we carry out forensic examinations and drivers are asked to avoid the area.

"Officers are carrying out searches and speaking to residents in the area and we’d like to thank those who have helped with our enquiries so far at this early stage."
Victoria Avenue has restrictions in place at the junction with East Street and West Street where the Blue Boar pub is located.
There are delays on Victoria Avenue and surrounding roads including Fairfax Drive and Priory Crescent.
