THE Kursaal has long had questions hanging over it and we all have an opinion on what the iconic building could become.

We asked you for your thoughts... and you weren't shy in giving them.

Here are a few of our favourites.

>> The chips are down: Uncertain future for our old Kursaal as casino folds

I SAY bring back the bowling alley. I think a bar, pool tables and soft play with a hall to hire would be good and maybe a museum.

KATIE SIMPSON

IT would be good to have a bowling alley there and children’s soft play as well as a place where the homeless can come to to get shelter and food for those in needs.

STACEY CORRINNE RYAN

I’D like to see an indoor fair, with a museum, craft shops, ice skating rink, and restaurants. I shall never forget, I’m sure lots of other people have Kursaal memories so it would be a great sin to see it demolished. It’s famous throughout the country.

I’m sure if Southend Council give it some serious thought, they can come up with something for residents and visiting families. I like the idea of a museum also.

TERRY FANE

I THINK they should turn it into a old classic movie and concert venue.

DAVID DAVIES

IT would be good to make it into a community centre with a hall to hire, soft play area, cafe, bar and classes that can be run for all different members of the community. With the casino going now, there will be plenty of parking available.

CLARE SPARKLES

I SAY flatten it, and build affordable housing and high-end apartments with shops and or community centre.

CAROL MARIO AQUILINA

Seaside museum with a large working arcade of old penny amusements.

STEWART BEVAN

Turn it into an entertainment hub. There isn’t much to do in Southend anymore for anyone of any age. So many people could come together all under one roof.
