The criminals in south Essex jailed this week

From committing obscene acts of violence to stealing thousands of pounds worth of goods, these people are the very bottom end of society.

Here are some of the criminals jailed this week.

Chancy Kipasa 

Brutal thug Chancy Kipasa has been locked up for nine years for the vicious attack on a man in Westcliff where he knocked him out and stamped on his head.

His victim has tragically taken his own life since the assault, with Kisapa’s violence “playing its part” in his downward spiral.

Judge Andrew Hurst said he had "no doubt" that Kipasa's actions had led to his victim becoming depressed.

Kieron Nickels

Burglar Kieron Nickels was part of a gang sprayed a man’s eyes with oven cleaner after breaking into his home in the middle of the night.

He has been given an eight year prison sentence after carrying out a string of burglaries and thefts across south Essex.

The 20-year-old was a member of a gang that stole items such as purses, cash, computer equipment and jewellery from homes in Basildon, Benfleet and Southend.

He was jailed at Basildon Crown Court on Thursday.

Tendekai Chirinda 

Dealer Tendekai Chirinda has been locked behind bars for more than two years after he was caught in the act during a drug deal in Laindon.

The 34-year-old was pulled over by police officers who were out on patrol in Academy Drive, Laindon on November 12 last year.

Officers later found he had heroin stashed between his buttocks.

He was jailed for 30 months.

John Gough

Addict John Gough had 800 grams of cannabis and £2,000 of drug money stashed in his Southend home.

Gough was previously given a suspended sentence for drug dealing, but slipped back into his criminal ways to fund his cocaine addiction.

He was jailed for 16 months.

Scott Sibley 

Scott Sibley was cycling around Westcliff with more than 20 wraps of Class A drugs.

The 25-year-old was said to be part of a "cottage industry" of Southend drug dealing.

He was jailed for 40 months.
