TRIBUTES have flooded in after a much-loved former teacher passed away just days after her 86th birthday.

Stella Irene Livermore was born in Rayleigh in 1934 and spent her career working at several south Essex schools as well as touring the world.

Having worked at the Bank of England in London, Stella travelled to Canada after securing a job at the Toronto Daily Star newspaper.

When she returned to England, Stella followed her true calling and became a primary school teacher.

Stella’s career in teaching spanned more than 35 years, with her teaching at Rochford’s Holt Farm Infants School, Prince Avenue Primary School and Westborough Primary School in Westcliff.

Travelled the world - Stella Livermore

Stella sadly passed away in Hullbridge on July 5 with her sons by her side.

Peter Livermore, one of Stella’s children, paid tribute to his mother.

He said: “Stella had time for everyone. She had a unique way of making every person in her life feel special.

“She listened, smiled, laughed and loved without limitation.

“She leaves a hole in our lives that will never be filled, but she also leaves us with a lifetime of beautiful memories to help heal our broken hearts.

“Her long and happy life always revolved around her love for children – her own three children, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and the thousands of children lucky enough to be taught by ‘Mrs. Livermore’.”

In her later years, Stella made four trips to Australia to spend time with her daughter and three of her grandsons.

She travelled to many other parts of the world while also being an active member of the church.

Stella spent as much time as possible with her many close friends and rapidly expanding family, as well as enjoying her autumn years with loving partner Ernie.

Alongside Ernie, Stella continued to travel and, despite a range of health setbacks, they never gave up on planning their next travel adventure.
