A HUGE amount of illegally harvested shellfish has been found in Southend.
Southend Environmental Health, along with officers from Essex Police and Southend Council, seized nearly 150kg of the shellfish yesterday.
The extra discoveries on Thursday come two weeks after a seven day operation with found 810kg of shellfish along the seafront.
It was estimated to be worth £11,000.

A spokesman for Southend Environmental Health said: "A great example of collaborative working from multiple departments within the council.
"We would also like to thank the diligent reporting from local residents who continue to support and have enabled a string of successful interceptions of the illegally harvested consignments."
