THE police seized an airgun after they were called to reports of disturbance in a wood.
Sussex Police officers were called to the Broomgrove area of Hastings just before 10pm on Thursday.
They were told pellets were being fired and a group had been gathering in nearby woodland. The force was concerned about the number of people turning up at the spot.
Officers searched the wood but could not find the suspects.
But they later seized an “an air weapon” from a man in a garden in Deepdene Gardens.
There are no reports of injuries or damage.
The force said its enquiries are continuing.
It asked anyone with information to report it online or call 101 quoting serial 1574 of 06/08.
