A CUMBRIAN magician has found a unique way to continue his craft while embracing a face mask..

Children's entertainer Stuart Hodgson, from Penrith, is better known under his stage name Stu-Di-Doo.

Determined to continue entertaining the county, but restricted by lockdown measures, Stuart decided to recreate his trademark grin on a face mask - and is already proving popular.

After Government restrictions halted his magic shows, Stuart started working as a delivery driver for Morrisons, and his custom mask has proved a big hit with customers and fellow staff members alike.

Stuart said: “At the moment there’s a lot of anxiety around and in particular some people are finding shopping and being outside a stressful experience when we can’t see each other's facial expressions.

"I found these custom face masks online and thought if I could get my smile printed on the front it would raise a smile back - and it worked!

"Lots of people have told me how much they like it; it gets people talking instead of being afraid and the sound of laughter is great to hear again."

Stuart plans to resume his magic shows under new guidelines, but insists everyone's health and safety will be his priority.

"For now, it’s great to know I can still make people smile and laugh,” he added.

Stu-Di-Doo has been a full time professional entertainer for more than 16 years.

His act, a firm favourite with families throughout the UK, is often seen enthralling children at visitor attractions and schools, as well as at hundreds of birthday parties and family celebrations throughout the year.
