GUNS and drugs were seized following a series of police raids.

Officers from Operation Raptor South worked with the Metropolitan Police to execute warrants in Rochford, Berkshire and Surrey today.

Addresses in Steeple Close, Rochford, and Paddocks Close, Canewdon, were searched.

Police recovered drugs, cash, knives and two firearms from one of the addresses.

A 21-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Police also seized a five-figure sum of cash after searching an address in Ascot.

A 22-year-old woman from Ascot remains in custody on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Chief Inspector Lewis Basford said: “Today we’ve arrested three people and have seized a large amount of cash, drugs and three weapons – including two firearms.

“We’re acting upon information to investigate those responsible for the sale and supply of class A drugs.

“We’ve really focussed on those causing the most harm through mass supply and I think it’s key that we identify and deal with significant figures in drugs supply.

“We have individuals outstanding we are taking steps to locate them.

“I would like to thank all our officers, including our partners at the Metropolitan Police Service, for their help in making our operation’s today a success.”
