AN Essex showgirl starred in the first show to re-open in the West End following the Covid outbreak - alongside fellow Basildon girl Denise Van Outen.

Isabella Bliss is performing her Marilyn Monroe impersonation and burlesque in the Cabaret All Stars show at Proud Embankment venue in London.

Last weekend’s sold out variety show was also the first show to re-open in the West End following the pandemic.

The 33-year-old from Pitsea said: “I feel very blessed to be in the show and work with the likes of Denise Van Outen, as we are both from Basildon it’s great to help her put in on the map. It also shows the great talent we have in Essex.”

The starlet has been performing as the iconic movie star for eight years.

She added: “The venue has gone above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe and there are social distanced tables and the waitresses are wearing masks too. Last Saturday was sold out and so is this Saturday’s show too and they’ve added an extra show on Bank Holiday Monday.”

Isabella, who has a three month residency for Saturdays, says the team she works with is great.

She said: “It’s wonderful to share the stage with Denise Van Outen. It’s a really exciting show.

“It’s been a long time since we were able to perform due to the outbreak and I, like so many performers, was itching to get back on stage.

“I am hoping to have some work lined up with a Rat Pat show and also hoping for some TV work in the near future. It’s so good to be back on stage doing what I love and making people happy - it’s the best feeling.

“To be starring in the first show back in the West End which was sold out was such an overwhelming feeling. We have the opportunity to take people away from their troubles and give them some escapism which we all need now especially with what’s been going on.”

She said it’s important to showcase the homegrown Essex talent.
