A DRUNK thug subjected his ex-partner to a night of terror just two weeks after being spared jail.

Daniel Heath breached his suspended sentence by going to his former partner’s home in Holbech Road, Basildon on July 19 this year and hurling abuse at her and demanding to use her toilet.

The 35-year-old of Lottem Road, Canvey had been spared jail just days before on July 6 for previous acts of violence against the same woman.

He subjected her to a campaign of abuse and threats using weapons to damage her property while drunk.

In the latest incident, he went to her home to collect some belongings, which was not a breach, but in the early hours of the morning of July 19 he demanded he be allowed to sleep in her garden, and use her toilet.

She refused this and asked him to leave.

He ignored her and began his abuse.

Heath was jailed at Basildon Crown Court on Friday.

Mitigating, Chris Whitcombe said that Heath now understands that the relationship is over and he needs to move on, but said the crimes “speak for themselves”.

Judge Samantha Cohen told Heath: “Instead of leaving you asked if she had a new boyfriend, and that she deserved everything she was going to get.

“You started to headbutt the glass of her window in her kitchen saying ‘I am going to f*** you up.

“You then sat on her wall outside her house and were arrested at 4am.

“I regard it on it’s own as extremely serious.

“She had good reason to be frightened and it took place outside her own home.”

In February this year Heath falsely accused the woman of having another man in her home, and the shouting woke up her 11-year-old son, who went into the bedroom to comfort her.

Heath then punched the woman and left her with a black eye, before going downstairs and getting a kitchen knife, shouting ‘when I find him, I will kill you both’ before falling asleep in an armchair.

Judge Cohen jailed Heath for one year and seven months.
