HEALTH chiefs have reported dozens of new positive coronavirus tests across the county.
In Brighton and Hove there were a further eight cases reported over the weekend, taking the total of positive tests to 1,017.
The figure in East Sussex rose by ten from 1,874 positive cases to 1,884 in total.
Both counties rates of infection remain below the national average.
West Sussex saw the biggest rise, with a further 44 confirmed cases reported.
That takes the total there to 3,293, up from 3,259 on Friday.
Nationally, there were a further 18 deaths, taking the death toll to 41,777.
There were a further 8,321 coronavirus cases confirmed in the past two days, the highest daily figures recorded since May.
Currently there are more than 1,000 patients still in hospital, and there were a further 134 new hospital admissions.
More than 136,000 people have now been treated in hospital for the disease.
