Easyjet planes will continue to fly from Southend Airport due to maintenance works and transfering of aircraft parts, bosses have announced.
It comes as a number of residents and passengers raised the question to the airport following the departure of the budget airport last month.
A spokesman for Southend Airport said: "We have been receiving lots of messages from you all asking why there are still easyJet aircraft flying in and out of London Southend Airport with the airlines base currently closed.
"This is due to the airport still being a parking base for a large number of easyJet aircraft as the COVID situation continues to affect global aviation.
"While the aircraft are parked here there will be regular maintenance flights conducted and moving of airframes around bases, so the familiar orange aircraft will be seen in the skies of Southend for most of the winter.”
