IN reference to the debate on schools and Covid-19, I am amazed at the cynical intimidation of teachers caused by the absence of specific guidance from the Government and the attitude of some headmasters of secondary schools.
Teachers are requested to teach without wearing a mask, their pupils also do not wear masks except in some communal areas and corridors.
It is forbidden to enter a shop containing as little as two people without a mask yet it is okay for a teacher to be in close proximity to 30 plus teenagers for extended periods without any protection.
Teachers should at least have the right to the same protection as other key workers.
