Fire crews worked to extinguish a blaze which had taken hold of a large derelict building.

The team were called to Ness Road in Shoebury yesterday evening around 7.31pm (September 30) and arrived to find the first floor on fire.

The blaze, which covered approximately 75m by 25m, was quickly put out by the crew by 8.13pm.
