CORONAVIRUS cases continue to rise across south Essex, latest figures from Public Health England show.

The figures show, over the last seven days, 357 cases have been confirmed across Southend, Basildon, Castle Point, Rochford and Thurrock.

The organisation publishes a seven-day rolling rate, showing the number of newly confirmed cases in that period, set against the number of cases confirmed in the previous seven-day period.

Those figures are then presented as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.
